About

Hi, I’m Barney.

Husband, father, founder—and someone who’s spent the better part of the last decade asking what it really means to live freely, raise awake kids, build businesses that serve life (not consume it), and stay human in a world full of noise.

Before this chapter, I was an international wedding photographer. In the span of a decade or so, I travelled to some 20 countries and documented over 400 wedding celebrations, capturing the wild, warm, unfiltered essence of human connection. It gave me a front-row seat to what matters most, and a global lens on how people love, celebrate, grieve, and grow. It wasn’t that I turned my back on weddings—life just shifted. Covid, growing a business, experiencing loss, raising a family, and wanting to be more present led me down a different path.

I’ve lived outside the UK for most of my adult life now. That distance, both geographic and cultural, has reshaped my worldview. It challenged old scripts, opened new doors, and helped me build my life deliberately, not by default.

Now I co-run a values-first intimacy and wellbeing brand, The Natural Love Company. But more than being a founder, I’m a father first. Our kids don’t just fit into our lives—they are our lives. We raise them with presence, autonomy, and a healthy dose of curiosity. We unschool. We travel. We question everything from school to money to where the power lies. We’re not chasing more—we’re chasing meaning.

This site isn’t a brand platform or a funnel. It’s not polished for perfection. I certainly have nothing to sell you. It’s where I write the thoughts that don’t fit anywhere else. Sometimes it’s about parenting. Other times, it’s about sound money, grief, or rejecting the nonsense that passes for “normal.” It’s part journal, part invitation, part reminder that we’re allowed to do life differently.

It’s not perfect. It’s definitely not finished. But it’s honest. And it’s mine.

If you’re questioning the story you were handed—or building a new one from scratch—you’re in the right place. I don’t have it all figured out. But I believe deeply in community, and I know we learn faster and live better when we’re not doing it alone.

So reach out. Share your thoughts. Ask a question. Suggest a book. Tell me what you’re building. The internet’s too big to shout into the void—so let’s turn it into something useful, together.

Thanks for being here. Let’s keep walking the uncommon path—with our eyes open, and our hearts in it.
