Weddings in Newquay have many possibilities, but potentially don’t have that about of variations in the possibilities. Newquay is world famous as the sea sort resort if travelling to Cornwall, as such over the past years – dating back to post second world war – it has become an extreme tourist town, especially in the hight of the british summer. Newquay is very commercialist both as a holiday destination and for its surf seen. In my opinion some of the best beaches in the county are in and around Newquay – vast stretches of sand! Such as Watergate Bay or Fistral, both well known for surfing. From a wedding point of view there are many medium and large sized hotels throughout Newquay, if its a Hotel beach resort style wedding you are after then potentially Newquay is your place. However the hustle and bustle in the summer and the Hotel or Hotel scene may be a little restricting for those looking for something a little more niche or hidden away.
Newquay is located on the North Coast of Cornwall and has a selection of some of the longest and biggest sand beaches in Cornwall – along with its north atlantic facing presence, it is very popular throughout the year with surfers. Located in mid Cornwall, the junction for Newquay is near Fradon in Cornwall, about half way between Liskeard and Penzance, No more than hour from either end of Cornwall in normal driving conditions. During the summer months and during the weekend of Cornwall’s agricultural show ‘Royal Cornwall Show’ the area becomes very busy both with people and traffic.
“Cornwall’s favourite holiday resort, is famous for its Atlantic rollers, making it a centre for surfing and for its expanses of sandy beaches of which west facing Fistral Beach is the largest and most popular. Once important as a finishing port, due largely to huge shoals of pilchards, and for the export of china clay, the town became a tourist destination with the coming of the railway in 1875.” – AZ
