Weddings in Looe Cornwall, the must sea fishing town in North East Cornwall, hundreds of thousands of people, locals nd tourists alike flood to the narrow streets of Looe every summer. A popular holiday location located just 10 minutes from Liskeard and 20 from Saltash. The small fishing town has grown over the years and neighbouring Hanofore is now a popular second home location. Looe at the heart however is fairly unchanged, you can still find many small shops and restaurants along side fish and chips and gift shops.
Wedding opportunities, despite the quant scenery are fairly limited. The two key venues, one either side of Looe, are Barclays House and the larger Hannafore Point Hotel, overlooking the sea and Looe island. Both are hotel style venues, however they are very different places and should both be visited upon a recce of the area.
“Looe is a busy finishing port famous as a charm fishing centre and home to the Shark Angling Club of Great Britain. Situated on the narrow estuary at the confluence of the two Looe rivers, it is divided into East Looe with its small narrow streets and West Looe, its quieter counterpart, linked together by a bridge built in 1855. A fish marker is held on the Buller Quay. The beach near the Banjo pier is popular. Offshore to the west lies St George’s Island, known also as Looe Island, which is open to day visitors during the summer. The Looe Valley Line is a scenic 8.5 mile brach railway line to Liskeard.” – AZ
