Sometimes people can get a little anxious before a pre shoot, I’m always insistent that we do shoot a few frames and reassure that its nothing to overthink but rather just a catch up, going for a walk and shooting a few frames. Its true of course that not everyone needs it, some are happy and self confident in playing up a little to the camera, but I would say I have more couples that are a little anxious than are not and this is why and engagement (pre) shoot is so important. Its rewarding to see how in just 25-30 minutes people can change from being a little withdrawn and shy when the camera comes out to laughing and joking just a few feet from the camera at my eye.
This Engagement shoot was shot early in the morning on a bank holiday Monday a couple weeks ago near the London Eye and the Parliament buildings. Getting up early meant we missed most of the rush of London and also got some cool early morning light to work with. Here are a few worlds that this bride to be sent me that highlights that it really is worth it…
‘…just wanted to say thank you so much for Monday. It was so great to see you again and actually see how you work, we both came away on Monday feeling so much more confident about having photos on our wedding day, you’re such a pleasure to work with!’
Hope you like these few frames I picked out.
