The Cornwall Hotel St Austell Intimate Wedding

Last week I photographed my most intimate wedding yet, the bride, the groom, their two dogs, and, and, no-one else. :) Literally just the two of them and their two dogs in the Cornwall Hotel near St Austell. The couple had come down a few hundred miles south to stay in Cornwall for a fortnight and tie the knot in the most simple way possible. There were just seven of us in the room when they got married, myself, the two of them, the two registrars and two kind people from the hotel who offered to be witnesses to their marriage. Its really refreshing to see and be a part of such a small and intimate wedding, nothing but a desire to be together without any fuss.

Of course not for everyone, not many of us have the families that would perhaps allow such a thing, or rather perhaps we don’t have the strength to say ‘no’ you can’t come. ? Whatever the reasons and flow of events that allowed this lovely couple to just be alone when they got married, and then share the day with each other and their dogs was a pleasure to be a small part of. Because of the intimacy of the wedding, after the short ceremony in the Cornwall Hotel, the next hour or so after took on a more of a Pre Shoot feel than a wedding day for me, just me and the couple, with the dogs at times, just having a walk around the St Austell Cornwall Hotel grounds and taken a few pictures here and there.

Its always good doing something a little different and I thoroughly enjoyed my couple of hours with the two of them. :) Hope you like.
