Weddings in St Just are incredible in my opinion, the surrounding coastline is just a magical place, so easy to find peaceful surroundings, architecture to be amazed by and a stretching atlantic ocean and cliff top coastline to ponder all day on. Unfortunately, to my knowledge, their are limited wedding venues on this beautiful stretch of Cornwall, however it is also pleasant that the area has not be built up. A noticeable venue just outside St Just town itself is that of Cape Cornwall Golf Club, a venue I have been too before and also the Cape itself which is licensed for marriages. However consulting with local heritage trusts, the national trusts or local land owners or farmers could create the most amazing wedding venue of your own. Depending on the weather!

The surrounding area of coastline its one of those magical sights, one of which even us native Cornish coke long to see again and again. The coast line that stretches just a short way down South West to Lands End and Sennen, in-between you also have small villages such as Kelynack and the Carn Brea area. Tregeseal, Bottlack, Carnyouth and Pendeen. As well as the amazing costal scenery, this is also one of the best places in Cornwall to see some of Cornwall’s mining heritage. Most noticeably for mining in the area is Crows Engine House, Geevor Tin Mine and the surrounding area of Cape Cornwall. Their are no major roads near this beautiful area and only small winding B roads, the B3306 is the notable access road to the whole area and runs along the North Coast from Lands End Airport to St Ives.

“St Just in Penwith is the westernmost town on the English Mainland, one mile from Cape Cornwall headland, the only ‘Cape’ in England. the town prospered in the 19th century on the mining of tin and copper, and many derelict mine workings can be found on the cliff tops between here and Pendeen. The best known of these are the two Crowns Engine Houses of the famous Botallack Mine. Shafts descended 366 meters below high water, some running out under the sea where the sound of moving boulders on the sea bed above could be heard. The geevor Tin Mine Heritage centre and Levant Beam Engine at Pendeen are open to the public. Medievel Cornish Miacle Plays were performed in the grass amphitheatre playing place, or Plain an Gwarry, in the Bank Square. The Surrounding area is rich in archaeological remains. Land’s End Aerodrome to the south operates flights to the Isles of Scilly.” -AZ
