Weddings in Torpoint Cornwall itself are fairly limited, however near Torpoint and out the outskirts there a several opportunities including; quality hotels such as Whitsand Bay Hotel and Friary Manor Hotel, Grand Manor houses such as Mount Edgcumbe House and estate and more obscure venues such as Polhawn Fort. As well as the coast and Tamar near by there is also moorland on the outskirts and neibouring Plymouth Devon can be reached by the Torpoint Ferry or driving to the A38 towards Liskeard and then Saltash to use the A38 Tamar Bridge across into Devon. The road between Truelfoot near Liskeard and Torpoint is a windy one, well known for its views of the Tamar, dense woodland as well as other forts over looking the Tamar.

“Torpoint developed from the late 18^th century as a naval maintenance base and ferry point on the River Tamar. Torpoint sits comfortably on the western side of the tidal Tamar, mainly on sunny south-facing slopes, sheltered from much of the Channel weather by the Rame peninsula. Its location makes access by water relatively straightforward but, by being at the south-eastern corner of the Antony peninsula, with St John’s Lake to the south and the Lynher estuary to the north, the town is quite awkward of access by land. There are two principal roads into the town, the A374 along the old 1760 Liskeard Turnpike and Trevol Road which passes HMS Raleigh.” – Historic Cornwall

Torpoint is geographically located on the south coast of Cornwall and is the eastern most town of Cornwall on the south coast. Torpoint is closer to Plymouth than any other Cornish town. but can only be reached from Devon via the Torpoint Ferry, or driving around some miles. The nearest major cornish town is Liskeard and closer by are Milbrook, Polhawn, Penlee and Antony. In Torpint itself there are several guest houses and both a methodist and church of England church, as well as more churches in the surrounding area of Antony, St john and Millbrook. One other small village near by is St Germans which is well know for the Port Elliot festival held every year on the Port Elliot Estate which is accessed from within the Village.
