London New Years Eve 2011 | London Wedding Photographer

Going back a few months, new years eve 2011, I travelled to London to witness the capitals celebrations unfold as we counted down the last few hours of 2011 in to 2012. Needless to say that the crowds were large and police presence was high, I found myself in a mass of excitement, anticipation, drinking, singing and the odd disagreement as to whom was standing where first. Having been embraced in the crowds at the Royal Wedding just a few months earlier, I was half expecting the same sought of spectacle, I was unfortunately disappointment and had overestimated the senirio to which I was in, from a picture prospective at least. At the wedding the large crowds, many dressed up, and daylight eyesight presented itself with many opportunities to capture some historic moments, and with a friend to communicate with for the 7 hours standing still certainly made the difference, unlike New Year, alone, with only a Mc Donald’s for refudge.

Anyway, after Big Ben sounded out midnight, and an hour or so weaving through riot and horse mounted police back to Paddington Station for a 9 hour wait till the first train West, I finally got home exhausted and a little disappointed. Which is probably why it has taken me until now to have a browse through my pictures from the build up and pick a few out.
