Rhodes, Lindos Wedding Photography in Greece | Destination Weddings Photographer

My first destination wedding of the year was on the Greek Island of Rhodes last week. It was a little different as I was also a guest on the wedding holiday week away to Rhodes, however on the wedding day, the tanning process got put on hold to photograph the wonderful and very much relaxed wedding day of Sarah & Matt.

Lindos was the location for the sea side wedding in the sun, the small church and courtyard was just meters from the beach and overlooking the lovely calm bay that brought the bride and ladies by boat and which then took us all away for a lovely mini cruise on a glass bottom boat afterwards. Arriving at the evening reception, also located just meters from the beach, the speeches and meal were served as the sun set, and once the plates were cleared the night of boogying and Greek dancers got well underway.

Lindos, Rhodes, Greece and hot climate destination weddings as a whole, especially when near the beach always tend to lean towards a more relaxed affair, and I think Matt & Sarah hit the nail on the head. Having some decent planning that myself, Sarah and most importantly the Lindos wedding company had arranged in the days leading up to the wedding, whilst having a relaxed family wedding in a beautiful setting on what I am sure was a super holiday for them both and all the family.

On a technical note, seeing as the wedding day was so bright and blue, I have processed a lot more colour than normal, the day and venues just lent themselves well to colour, with the big blue skies and clean, crisp daylight colours. I also travelled very light to this wedding, only one camera body and two lenses, a 24-70 2.8 and 50mm 1.4. I have also used a lot of my ever growing fondness of film aesthetic editing in this set, particularly Kodak Portra and Tri-X.
