Byron Bay Australia – The First Day and what a place. My first trip down under back in November and December of last year (2012) was a thoroughly enjoyable one, probably the most memorable trip I have had in a few years and I certainly cannot wait to return. During my three weeks their with fellow photographer and friend Andy Green, we went 4 wheel driving, camping on the worlds largest sand Island, swimming in shark and jelly fish infested waters and visited some of the key tourist spots on the east coast of Queensland and New South Wales. However, looking back through all my pictures from our time away, I seem to get the biggest smile when flicking through the almost week long set of ‘wedding’ pictures. So this blog and a few subsequent to it are all about the wedding we shot, the people we met and the friends we made. :)

As a norm, in the UK, I shoot an Engagement shoot with the couple and then the wedding day itself. However with this wedding, and hopefully the foundations for more like it to come, things were a little different. Myself and Andy were actually shooting for 4 days, including; a 5am Pre Shoot, a 10am Pre Shoot The Hen Party, The Stag Party, Surfing, Cricket on the beach and numerous BBQ’s! Oh and I nearly forgot the wedding day itself! Whilst this all sounds a lot, after the first evening with both sides of the families, we were, or defiantly felt like we had both been accepted into the party, the celebrations, and I personally had a brilliant time with them all.

I am going to split the pictures from my time in and around Byron Bay into 4 separate blogs, the fist day and night, the pre shoots, the stag party & evening before the wedding and finally the wedding day itself. – I welcome you to follow over the next few days as I post these blogs. All the following pictures on this blog of the cricket were shot on a Canon G12, with and without a housing and the evening on a Nikon D3 using a 50mm at between f/1.4 and f/2. – Enjoy :) Who Can Spot Me & Andy ?
