Perhaps my last blog post was a little too favourable to the city of Hannover. Myself and europe touring partner, Alex, went on a 12km walk the day after I wrote the last blog post and on that walk we came across what can only be desribed as the less elegant part of Hannover.

I feel the use of words to decribe it any further is pointless, as the pictures tell the story. However if I had a wider lens on me at the time, I would of shot the pictures on it to take in the scale of the graffiti. The picture of the bikes is actually outside the main entrance of a pre-school, belive it or not.

On a lighter note, this end of town is not the area we have been staying in, and for the majority my conclusion of the German people is an ethic of work hard, play hard. Which can perhaps be better explained by my previous blog post.

Again all the pictures are shot at f/1.4 on my 50mm. It´s a phase. Im sure it will pass.

Wedding Photographer in Hannover, Germany

As some of you may know, I have been stuck in Hannover, Germany for the past week. Whilst travelling from Kassel (Western Germany) towards Berlin (East Germany), we stopped in Hannover, for what was intended to be a couple hours. Seven days later we are still here. The set back has been fairly depressing in a business city with very little to do. A trip in planning for well over a year and after 4 great days on the road it all came crashing to and end beacuse of a computer fault with my van. However a couple of days ago my normal optimistic self came back and I decided to make the most of the hand I had been dealt.

My initial intention was to shoot portraits of people in Hannover, as I´m the first to admit, landscpaes, animals, street documentary, e.c.t, quickly bores me, I really like to work with people in creating pictures, and although I have got a couple portraits, which I will post at a later date, I found myself shooting thease pictures of and around a river.

All the pictures (apart from the long distance path picture) are shot at f/1.4 on my 50mm. This technique is what gives the images a slightly unique look, and of course the water reflections which would only be possible on such a flattly lit day. I returned today for another look and amongst the harsh sunlight in the woodland area the pleasing look I achieved yesterday was gone.

I hope you like, something a little differnt than my normnal stuff, just killing time in Hannover.
