Stoodleigh Court is a brilliant wedding venue located near Tiverton and just a 20 minute drive off the M5 at junction 27 in Devon. Over the past month I have been invited to shoot two weddings at Stoodeligh, one on a lovely summers day and one on a murky day of drizzle and rain. Stoodleigh is one of those venues that is beautiful outside and in, huge open spaces inside and out, Stoodleigh really does provide a wedding location whatever the weather. The interior architecture is also a huge positive coupled with the high ceilings when the weather takes a turn for the worst.
On a clear day you can see for miles as the back of the building looks out over a valley and hills in the distance, here canopies can be served, after the ceremony at the venue itself, or local church. The grounds also contain horizon points, archways, grand trees, a staircase and darker backdrops which all are brilliant from a photographic point of view, thats all before you use the idea of backdropping the building itself.
All in all you can probably tell I like the venue, its also only a 90 minute drive for me, home before midnight is always a positive.
Here is a little text from Stoodleigh’s website…
“Built in 1881 as a privately owned house, Stoodleigh Court is set in 25 acres of delightful gardens and mature woodland. During recent years the house has undergone a careful restoration programme, creating a prestigious function centre in an absolutely beautiful setting.”
You can find out more about the venue by visiting their website here, Stoodleigh Court Website.
