After a week out of the country and a 1800 mile round driving trip to the borders of Switzerland & France, I am now firmly back in the UK to reality. Not setting off again out of the country until May (for a wedding in Greece), I thought I would share a quick travel picture here taken on the Portes-du-Soleil Skiing area near Avoriaz in France. Most of the time I was shooting a few pictures with my iPhone but on this particular day I took my back up camera when at weddings up on the slopes. A Nikon D300S coupled with a Nikon 24-70 2.8 at f/22 and an underexposing hand by myself allowed for this picture to be captured whilst looking back up a moderate blue run where several people were silhouetted whilst skiing down on the morning snow, the added chair lift, slope, sky and sun all add to a story of typical skiing.
I try to go skiing at least once a year, and while the wedding season is at its low in Jan & Feb it always fits in well to have a week or two off during this period. I have been skiing now for about 7 years and now a fairly compitent skier, I am starting to get to grips with, and over the coming couple of years, skiing with camera kit, including long lenses in the 300-600mm range.
Anyway enough about me and future plans hope you like the picture.
