This pair are getting married in North Devon later this year but a couple weeks ago on a Sunday afternoon we met up in central London to catch up with each other and shoot a few pictures around the city they call ‘home’ together.
In my opinion its very hard to get to know someone when you don’t spend time with them, and I think its even harder to document a day of close friends and family if your not one yourself. To be on the inside, to know whats going on, to have trust, respect and the foundations of a friendship I believe to be imperative for what I do, and what I do is document and photograph very personal life events. The solution for me is to spend these couple of hours with them, after meeting initially and before spending some time learning about their particular wedding vision in the week leading up to the big day. Im constantly striving to create that environment that means when they open the door on the morning of their wedding day to say hello, we can hug instead of shake hands.
Hope you like these few frames from about 30 minutes total shooting along the Embankment and Hungerford Bridge.
