The last time I visited Amsterdam I was probably less than 4ft tall, yet I distinctly remember some of the more well known aspects of the city from back when I was a kid. In December I was on a cruise ship with some family for some new years celebrations and on the eve of 2015 we docked in Amsterdam for a rather glorious winters day walk around the central part of the city, before returning to the ship to count down New Year in Amsterdam’s dock.
New year in Amsterdam is fairly cool indeed, I’ve seen London’s attempt live and many other countries on the TV, but to be in the docks of Amsterdam when the clocks strike midnight is something indeed, fireworks everywhere! and I mean EVERYWHERE, and it went on till just before 2am in a 360 degree pattern that we were in the centre of. Celebrations in Amsterdam dont seem to have much of a core but rather and endless energy everywhere amongst the fairly low rise landscape.
Here are some frames around Amsterdam on the morning of New Years Eve 2014.
