Well! What can I say about this amazingly beautiful and fun day with Nicky and Mark. We had such a blast with them both and all their loved ones in Austria for this ski and snow themed wedding that literally took place thousands of feet above sea level!
I say ‘we’ as for this wedding I was introduced to Nicky and Mark by and was accompanied on this destination wedding with Ben from The London Wedding Film Co. I have included a link to Ben’s video highlights at the end of the images below.
Nicky and Mark first got engaged in Mayrhofen, Austria (near Innsbruck). So when Nicky and Mark started to plan their wedding, the location of Mayrhofen was an obvious choice, and luckily enough they were able to secure an amazingly positioned venue at the top of ones of Mayrhofen’s ski gondolas.
After a wedding ceremony at the top of the mountain, the newly weds spent part of their reception in an igloo, skied (very gracefully may I add) through their confetti tunnel, walked around in their ski boots and released a lot of balloons, they then took their first mode of transport as husband and wife down the mountain in a gondola (if you don’t count their skis as a mode of transport of course).
The weather was not a typical ‘blue bird’ ski day, but instead they had a wonderful (but a little scary for everyone) overcast day which resulted in a mix of blue sky and snow falling throughout the day – their very own winter wonderland!
After spending time at 2,000 meters, we all travelled down to Sportresidenz Zillertal, an incredibly furnished function space just a 20 minute drive from Mayrhofen ski area. These guys have great taste! This is where they had their wedding breakfast, speeches and partied the night away.
Special thanks to Nicky and Mark’s wedding planner Susi, whom was brilliantly organised and a great person to have around all day! Finally, one last shout out to DJ Barney, always awesome having another ‘Barney’ around – all-be-it a little confusing when someone was talking about me being in charge of the sound system! :)
