Poppy lit with natural day lighting on a 50mm prime lens.
The image above is from my first portrait shoot tackling the idea of fine art portraiture, using simple lighting and a sexy but elegant approach to what I am photographing. As I uncovered in my last blog post, the stimulus for such work has come in part from the work of photographer Damien Lovegrove, although there have been many other influences on everything I am working towards in this personal project. My aim is to produce commercially viable images that can be given to the partners of those whom I photograph, or otherwise purchase my services as a gift to their partner. This is of course just another strand of photography that I am exploring that will work alongside my current portrait shoots found on my website.
Lit with the same light source and lens, we have moved slighting in the room to create contrast across Poppy’s face.
Same as above, edited to create a softer and more dream like image.
These images are the first I what I intend to be a lengthy adaption of lighting and my photography aspirations to blend such imagery together. If anyone is interested in being photographed in a similar way to these images then please get in contact, I will be happy to offer minimum costs to you in order to further my style in this area and further give you all the images.
One of my favourite images from this first shoot with Poppy, lit softly and flat with the available light.
I would love to hear your thoughts on these images and will be posting some more in the near future.
