A Garden Wedding in Sheffield

Last Friday morning I started the drive north towards Sheffield for Saturdays garden style DIY wedding between a couple of lovely gardens in the suburbs of the northern city. Being the end of half term, I think everyone else was leaving Cornwall as well, least to say the roads were very busy, glad I had plenty of time to get up there. Once in the area I met up with the couple before driving around the various venues including; hairdressers, hotel, a field, garden one and garden two where the reception would be held, which also happened to be the grooms fathers nearly built house. rather nice place I must say. :) – made even better by the open doors and marquee in the garden – a lovely setting for all.

On the big day itself the sun was shining, the suncream was on and I had a throughly wicked day photographing the couples ceremony held by the grooms brother, who set a great atmosphere with his words, after which drinks were served in the lovely garden owned by a family friend. This was all before everyone made their way to garden number two for the meal and evening reception. On route; myself and the couple stopped to take a few pictures in a field we had found the day before to allow everyone to get to the marquee before them, it was a good opportunity to shoot a few pics in what could be the middle of nowhere.

The whole day was just good fun, the speeches topped it for me with the bride being russian and having russian family and friends, and an enthusiastic father of the bride making a russian speech to an english speaking majority – sometimes the words got lost in translation. :)

Overall im sure everyone invited and involved would say they had a great time in Sheffield – not least helped by the up for nearly anything couple! Thank you guys and my best wishes.
