I first met Shivani and Andy a couple weeks before this pre-shoot. They had been recommend to me earlier in the year by friend of theirs that were by then set to be married just a matter of weeks before Shivani and Andy’s own Wedding celebrations in November. It’s always such a treat to have more time to get to know people in advance of their wedding, and whilst we only had chance for a 10 minute conversation at their friends wedding in the North of England – it was a enough for the introductions so we could get straight into wedding scheming and walking around on Richmond Hill for their pre wedding shoot (as below) when we met up in October.

Richmond Hill turned out to be a great place to meet up and shoot some pictures, a new find of open space in West London for me, a subtle change to Richmond Park next door – a frequent and favourite meeting spot of mine.

Shivani and Andy were married a couple weeks later in Richmond, before having their wedding celebrations, complete with a Hindu ceremony at Northrbook Park in Surrey – where, at the time of writing – I have just returned from.

This pair really didn’t need a pre-wedding photo shoot to “relax” them in-front of the camera, but even still it’s such a great way to put their minds at ease about any misconceptions about what “wedding photography” might be like. Whilst more importantly simple spending some time getting to know me, and I them. Time that is always rewarding when it comes to the wedding day – with a greater understanding, relationship and development of trust – great picture opportunities and situations unfold much more frequently. Time well spent!
