A Wedding in Byron Bay, Australia, the perfect end to a very productive 2012. The wedding itself had been building for several days whilst myself and Andy Green were photographing the various parts of the events leading up to the wedding day itself towards the end of November. We had been in Australia for a couple weeks and had spent the best part of a week with the couple and their families at various BBQ evenings, drinking, walks and general social events. It was one of the most genuine, happy weeks I have ever been apart of, and being a part of it was a privilege! Unlike so many weddings in the UK, where I get to know the couple very well, but miss out on being welcomed as a friend into the family scenario – not that this is always fitting – but it certainly made for a great atmosphere and some honest picture taking.
The wedding itself was held a little inland from where we were all staying on the beach front just outside Byron Bay, and was about a 20 minute drive to the Coorabell Retreat where the wedding itself was held, I spent the morning with the guys and Andy consequently spent the morning with the girls, meeting up to cover the rest of the day, starting with a ceremony under a rather large tree in a clearing amongst a forest of trees! There is very little I can say about the wedding itself and the whole atmosphere of the day other than it was beautiful, friendly, intimate and full of laughs. My very best wishes to everyone who made myself and Andy feel so very welcome and allowed us to go a little beyond the normal. :)
Here are a few pictures from the wedding day itself from my point of view, and whilst it was such a great day, so was the whole week, so please check out:
