Last wekend I had the pleasure of photographing a wedding in East Devon at Sharpham House in the middle of the Devon countryside near Totnes and the coast line of Torquay. Surrounded my a mass of open space, a vineyard, a river and an amazing interior staircase this was going to be an extraordinary setting for the marriage of this well travelled couple. I only met the couple a few weeks prior to the wedding, largely due to the thousands of miles that have separated us since we first spoke many months ago about their wedding plans, needless to say it was a pleasure to meet them both, connect with them before the day and then document their day with friends and family from all over the globe. Bringing everyone to Devon and arranging the wedding mostly from another continent was never going to be easy for them or their guests, but everyone seemed to have a fantastic time in this remote and beautiful spot of Devon. Im positive no-one will forget the day in the hurry, nor the cake! :)
From my point of view the day started with the girls at a hairdressers and then on to a small rented cottage before arriving at Sharpham House and meeting up with a friend and uni graduated who was helping me with a few different angles of the day and had been shooting a few pictures of the lads in the morning. The service on the staircase was followed by confetti, lots of drinks and food, a rather noisy meal (thanks to a room full of friends), that shook the walls and floors at times and then for some amazing cake before closing the evening with some dancing and partying the night away.
In honesty; what makes a wedding for me is an appreciative, understanding and genuinely lovely couple, alongside a great bunch of friends and family all keen to have a great time! Equating to everyone having a laugh and a genuinely good time, of which I have the pleasure to photograph and be a part of. Thanks guys! :) Some of their Pre Shoot Pictures can be found here.
Here are about 10% of the pictures, a few of my favourites mixed with some storytelling elements, the couple have over 700 more to look forward to when they return to the UK in the not to distant future. All the pictures will be put online in a gallery in a few weeks time once the bride and groom have seen them all, ‘like’ my Facebook Page and I will post it there when its live. Enjoy!
