Last month myself and Andy were back on the case to produce some imagery for the ever growing Wed Mag Devon. The shoot was arranged by Andy and the team at Wed Mag and despite a very showery day in North Devon which put Andy’s first idea on standby, we soon came up with a Plan B which worked very well. The flagship picture of this idea was for our model (Cody) to stand up in a small wooden boat in the middle of a pond. Why not we thought? – Striving for something a little different.
With this idea came OCF (Off Camera Flash), Pyrotechnics Smoke and a pulley system to control the boat, along with radio triggers and a long lens. ‘This isn’t Vogue’ was quoted on the day. However with myself and some of the Wed Mag team controlling the boat, flash and smoke and with Andy controlling the whole scene with his camera, I can thankfully say – we pulled it off.
Due to there being so many elements to control for a number of the set ups, I didn’t get chance to do a whole lot of shooting, however when we stopped on the jetty of the pond for a few 50mm pictures using natural light I got my 5D2 out and fired off a few frames. These are the pictures shown here along with one of the shots that Andy took of Cody in the boat.
As always it was great to work alongside the team from Wed Mag and with no doubt we will be out with them again in the near future. Issue 8 which contains pictures from this shoot is now on shelves across Devon. I am positive Andy will also post a blog about this shoot so watch closely on www.harreraimages.co.uk. You can also find more info about the magazine from www.wedmagazine.co.uk. Hope you like the pictures.
